Two users of IOS has been demanding Apple because the company is tracking and recording the location-based data on mobile devices they use.
Vikram Ajjampur, iPhone users in Florida, and William DeVito, IPAD customers from New York, which is currently conducting a report to the court to enter a claim file.
"We take particular issue with the notion that Apple is now doing basically tracking people wherever they go," said Aaron Mayer, lawyer of the plaintiffs, as reported by Bloomberg, on Tuesday (04/26/2011).
"If you're a federal leader, you must have a warrant to do this sort of thing, and Apple do it without a single letter," he added.
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier today that the iPhone is to collect and store location information even when turned off location services.
To be sure, the location seems to collect data using mobile phone towers and wifi access point near the phone user. However, information that does not appear to be transmitted back to Apple.
Earlier, South Korea's communications regulator (South Korea) to immediately investigate the related news that Apple Inc's iPhone device secretly collecting location data of users.
Korea Communications Commission has asked Apple how often the collection and recording of data was performed. They also questioned whether the user can choose to save or delete the data already collected.
In addition, Apple also had to explain why the data must be stored and whether the data stored in corporate servers. The commission also expressed readiness to form a team to study the information and privacy protection are more sophisticated for smartphone users.
